Health care is a basic human right, not a privilege. For some reason, we’ve allowed ourselves as Americans to be fooled into accepting that one must be blessed with “means” to actuate appropriate health care. As a nation we have failed to realize that our health care system is a barometer of our society’s value for human life.

The Christmas Feast

Today at work we are having an all day affair named The Christmas Feast.

Wow.

So I've gained 6-8 lbs and now I get to eat all day..

Anyone else's jeans fitting a little tighter lately? Or a lot tighter?

I'm gonna start running and counting calories again come January. I could start now, but I'd be setting myself up for failure with Christmas coming up.

but I feel like such a fattie.

I'm there too man.

I hate counting calories, but I don't know that there's any other way at this point.

What do you use to track it all? Anything fancy, or just a good old fashioned notebook?

This is going to make me sound so lame but I east the same basic things for breakfast & lunch every single day. I mix it up at dinner a little, but my diet rarely changes. I like what I eat and I always know how many carbs/calories are in what I make. This helps me keep my weight and BS in control. My office has a TON of cookies and candies in the kitchen and I haven't touched one thing yet, which I am very proud of. I am nervous about going to my fiancee's family's house for Christmas because we'll be there for 3 days and they constantly bake. I am determined not to indulge in the sweets - I'll hit the wine instead ;)

What - who are you Nina - I also eat the same thing every breakfast and lunch! There is another weirdo out there!

Hej Sarah, you know yourself best. If putting the diet off until January works best for you then let yourself enjoy Xmas. Me, if I let myself slip, I gp downhill fast, like a snowball that grows bigger and rounder and cannot stop.

Yeah, and this coming week is "Food Fest" in our office.......I don't think I'll have to describe it.
